Meet poor Fleck, aged 2.

Fleck was originally purchased as a gun dog and has received some rough handling to ‘train’ him. This has made him fearful and lacking trust, unsurprisingly, so needs a patient and loving home. The lady who currently has him safe has asked us to help him. She has a bouncy dog that Fleck finds too full on and 3 children under 5. He was kennelled but is now being house trained, which he is picking up. OUR ASSESSOR FEELS THAT HE COPES WELL IN A VERY BUSY HOUSEHOLD BUT THAT A CALMER HOME WITH A CHILD OVER 5 WOULD BE FINE.

Many of the dogs that come through rescues have issues that need to be overcome. This takes time, patience and understanding. They won’t become model dogs overnight. You get back what you put in with a rescue. Show Fleck love, train him positively with treats and praise, and in time you will be rewarded with a faithful and loyal friend. If you’re not prepared to commit for the long haul with him, then please don’t apply as the last thing he needs is rejection once more.

Fleck needs neutering, vacs, flea and worm treatment, which LiN will cover the cost of. FLECK IS NERVOUS OF ITEMS BEING DROPPED OR SUDDEN MOVEMENTS SO WILL NEED A HOME THAT CAN WORK ON CREATING A BOND WITH HIM TO GAIN HIS TRUST. HE IS GENERALLY OBEDIENT BUT NEEDS WORK ON RECALL. DOGS THAT HE’S MET HE HAS BEEN FINE WITH, ALTHOUGH THESE HAVE ALL BEEN FEMALE.

If you can offer Fleck a calm home where he will be shown love, patience and understanding, please comment below.

He travels well in the car. He’s in Somerset so would need to be willing to travel, ideally.
