Lovely Leo, 6 years old

This boy has been in foster for a few weeks so we could get to know him better and find him the right home.

Leo is a snuggle monster: he’s very affectionate and loves cuddles. His foster mum’s son is 4 and Leo is perfectly at ease with him; he enjoys human puppy cuddles too!

On walks, Leo is strong but with a canny collar he’s fine. His recall is perfect and his basic commands are coming on. Leo does have some anxiety with other dogs, especially bull breeds. He is probably part staffie himself.

Leo feels he needs to protect his people and if a dog acts aggressively he will react in the same way. Awareness and confidence are key, Leo is responding well to distraction training using treats and walks in less busy places. This helps to reduce his anxiety and he would benefit from a calm and confident owner to continue this training.

Leo is fine to be left, once he’s had a wander and checked all the rooms (a fab security officer!). He isn’t crate trained but doesn’t chew.

He is neutered and up to date with everything. He’s currently in North Yorkshire and his minimum adoption donation is £170.
