Adopted - Sam 7yrs Old

Sam will need vaccinations & neutering, which LiN will cover the cost of. Otherwise, he appears to be a fit and healthy dog who loves his walks and food! On lead, Sam will pull a little but he isn't used to being on lead. He is trained to walk to heel and has good obedience but it may need polishing up since retiring.

As a working lab, he has been trained to retrieve and used to hunt rabbits. Therefore, if you have small furries you need to make sure their space is Sam proofed. He's never been around cats but has had some interaction with children. So older children should be fine.

Sam lived in kennels prior to retirement. After retirement, he lived indoors with a staffie and is house trained. He's fine around other dogs too.

Sam is currently in foster in Staffordshire and this is what his foster mum has said about him:

Sam has been with me for a week and has come a long way. Considering he came with no collar or lead we weren’t sure how he would react to wearing them, but now as soon as he sees me get the lead out he bounces around like a 2 year old. He does pull on the lead but probably with more training he will improve. He gets on well with other dogs although he’s not bothered with playing with them, he loves human company and will follow you all day. He has met loads of children this week as they all off from school and he has met my grandson who is 4 years old and he was excellent around him. He has seen cats when out walking, he was inquisitive but didn't try chasing them. He does chase ducks and even fell in the canal while chasing them. He can be a little timid when first meeting men, but soon comes around after a short while. He loves playing ball and will bring it back to you. He is house trained and I’ve had no accidents from him. But most of all he is a cuddle monster and would fit in anywhere as long as he has company most the day.

Sam's minimum adoption donation is £170
